Baxter-Nye (BN) Engineering and Surveying has completed a variety of coastal projects and has significant experience working with local regulatory agencies in clearing these project types through the environmental permitting process. Elevated Tee The Hyannisport Club’s 18th Tee is located immediately adjacent to salt marsh and within Riverfront Resource Area associated with Hall’s Creek in Hyannis Port, MA. The men’s tee was saturated during extreme tide events which limited play. The proposed project involved the design and installation of a 150 linear foot timber bulkhead and the placement of fill in order to elevate the tee approximately 1 foot above existing conditions.
The permitting of this project under the Massachusetts and local wetland regulations was extremely challenging given the close proximity of the work to the salt marsh system and proposed fill within regulated Riverfront Area. BN was able to work with the local conservation commission during the Notice of Intent Hearing process and secured the Order of Conditions so that the project could move to construction.
