PROJECT NARRATIVE
Baxter-Nye Engineering and Surveying (BN) is providing wetland resource area delineations, right-of-way and existing conditions survey, site planning, site design and permitting for a proposed bituminous concrete sidewalk along the east side of Great Neck Road North starting just north of the Mashpee Rotary and ending at Route 130, a distance of 2.1 miles. Great Neck Road North has significant resource area, topographic and development constraints requiring careful consideration when setting the final alignment for the new and redesigned portions of the sidewalk. Additional services include designing drainage improvements at select locations along the corridor.
UNIQUE REQUIREMENTS
The design effort includes minimizing impacts to the adjacent landscape, private development and mature shade trees by aligning the path around trees and utilities, using walls, increasing side slopes and reducing the path width at specific locations. BN is serving as the lead consultant on the project, coordinating the shade tree survey, traffic study and intersection improvement design portions of the project with the project sub-consultants.
