PROJECT NARRATIVE

Baxter-Nye Engineering and Surveying (BN) provided right-of-way and existing conditions survey, site planning, site design, right-of-way taking plan, and construction administration services for the construction of a 8-foot wide bituminous concrete multi-use path extending along the southbound side of Great Neck Road South starting south of
the Mashpee Rotary and ending south of the Cape Cod Children’s Museum. BN also provided conceptual design for the continuation of the path south to Poponesset Road.

UNIQUE REQUIREMENTS

A significant portion of the design effort went into minimizing impacts to the adjacent landscape. Impacts were kept to a minimum by aligning the path around mature trees and utilities, using walls and reducing the path width at specific locations. Through thoughtful design and layout, we were able to minimize impacts to specimen shade trees and avoid a potential MEPA filing.
